If you’ve stumbled upon this page, you’re in for a ride. The Ecclesiology Project is a space for me to publicly think and write regarding the doctrine of ecclesiology (theology of the church). There will be two distinct aspects to the research and writing that you’ll encounter here. The first will be a biblical/theological exploration of the telos of the body of Christ and the second will be a more philosophical exploration of the effect that telos has on the structures and practices of an organization. Obviously these two areas go in vastly different directions. One relies on scripture and the other social science, but they come back together to help us understand who we are as the people of God and what we’re to do resultingly.
At the end of the day, The Ecclesiology Project is an effort to discern the telos of the church and how that telos affects our gathering and witness as the body of Christ in the world.
Biography
G. L. Crouse III
“Me” is G. L. Crouse III, or Lewis, as my friends know me. This project is my brainchild and an attempt to offer something of value to the body of Christ in 21st century America.
I received my B.A. in Philosophy from Virginia Tech and my M.Div. from Denver Seminary. I have a beautiful, smart, and engaging wife named Anna and an adorable and energetic son named Lewie (G. L. Crouse IV). We currently find ourselves located in Dublin, Georgia where my wife works as a Biomedical engineer and I have the privilege of caring for our son during the day. When I’m not reading/writing or hanging out with my family, you can find me out back trying to bring my old truck back to life or devising ways to turn my yard into an orchard.
If you would like to discuss any of my work, please reach out at glcrouse@ecclesiology.org and I’ll get back to you.
