Weekend Workshop:
A Practical Theology of Holiness

This is a fantastic opportunity to come together at camp as adults, both young and old, and dig deeper into the word of God. We’ll be working through a practical theology of holiness, seeking to understand what the call to holy living looks like in our daily lives. This weekend will be modeled after the Bridge gatherings, where we prioritize facilitated discussion in order to help each individual share their own stories and process through the content together. Over the course of the weekend we’ll have five sessions, comprised of 30 minutes of lecture time and 45 minutes of facilitated discussion. Our hope is that this weekend will help deepen relationships of those who attend and make campmeeting all the more impactful come July.

Weekend Workshop Speakers

Meredith Baumann

Meredith lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband Blake and two children Vera and Shepherd. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible & Theology from Asbury University and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary. Meredith and Blake spent their first four years of marriage in ministry in China. She is passionate about helping Christians understand the fullness of the Gospel, where they are in their own spiritual journey, and how to deepen their walk with Jesus. She loves learning, exploring new countries, and making her home beautiful for her family.

Alex McGinnis

Alex McGinnis is an Elder in the Global Methodist Church starting a new Methodist community in Pike County, GA. He also teaches Bible and upper level mathematics at Crosspointe Christian Academy in Williamson, GA. After completing a Bachelors in Jazz Studies at Georgia State University, Alex surrendered to a call to local ministry at the altar of Indian Springs Holiness Campmeeting and later received his MDIV at Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He and his father, Darrell McGinnis, have been running the Indian Springs Holiness Bookstore since 2004. Alex and his wife, Jessica, son, Jacob, and daughter, Herietta have lived in Zebulon, GA since the beginning of 2020.

G. L. Crouse III

Lewis lives in Dublin, Georgia with his wife, Anna, and son, Lewie. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Virginia Tech and Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary. One of Lewis’ passion is researching and writing about what it means to be the body of Christ in the present day. When he isn’t reading or playing with his son, you can find Lewis out back working on bringing his old truck back to life.

The Bridge at Campmeeting

This new ministry, founded in 2018, bridges the gap between youth and adults. It serves as a transition point to engage young adults in fruitful conversation and study while providing time to engage with the adult services in the Main Tabernacle. Through our conversations, we will integrate what we know of the Gospel with the world around us.

Meeting Details:

  • 8:00-9:15am on the Crouse Porch (Cabin 138), across from Winky’s shop. We have a big sign hanging on the porch, you can’t miss it.
  • Each summer we’ll have a different study, written by Lewis, for your engagement. We’ll publish the study prior to camp so that you can begin thinking about our topic before arriving.
  • As opposed to other gatherings around the campground where the focus is on teaching, our gatherings are facilitated discussion, centered around our discussion guide. This provides an opportunity to process our topic together and ask hard questions. We prize discussion and the exploration of our faith together as the body of Christ.

An Invitation from LewisIn a world that does its best to keep our attention…come and be known. We invite you to come, to ask hard questions, and to continue the journey to discover the abundant life Jesus offers to us. All we ask is that you come and engage. The Holy Spirit will help with the rest.
